Country wise Google Optimizations

PART -4

Geo Targeting Techniques for Google SEO - other factors that may contribute to geographic targeting

There are many "geographically related" factors observed by the SEO community at Google. However (apart from the list above), they are not really proven to be a significant factor.

1. Yahoo regional directory listings. These are paid listings on http://dir.yahoo.com/Regional/. Some say they enjoy geographic targeting while being registered in the regional section.

2. Regional listings in DMOZ. These are free listings on http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/ that supposedly provide the same benefit from regional records as being on the Yahoo directory. Please note that Google uses DMOZ data for their Google Directory, which may be considered algorithm.

3. Nature of the content. Languages and how the content is written (for example, for audiences who) certainly affect the ranking. This is why we can only see Russian sites selling books www.google.ru not www.google.com.

Do look for books to buy www.google.ru and you can see the Russian sites using the Russian language on the first page results. For example: http://buy-books.ru/ - This site does not rank in other countries, such as www.google.com U.S. results.

4. Nature of the external links back links. Some people have a theory (though it was not proven) that if you have a profile of sites link back to the UK, it will help your ranking www.google.co.uk. The same is true as it were with external links, if you link to sites mainly in the UK, it also helps Google see that you are targeting Britain.

5. Geo-targeting in Google Webmaster Tools. It definitely helps, as it is offered by Google. When it seemed impossible for you to build your website using the above suggestions, it is probably the easiest option most clearly specify geographic targeting. Remember that there is still no guarantee, it's up to Google and its algorithm to determine where your site should rank in the end.
