Google 2011 Top 10 Ranking Factors for E-commerce sites

Google Introduces New Meta Tags for News Source Attribution to help Original News
After the presumed success of the Canonical meta tags, which was originally announced in February last year, Google has decided to trial two new meta tags for Google News. These Source acknowledgment Meta Tags are designed to help Google SEO now decide which article is the most authoritative for content. As the original material publisher, you can use one or both of these tags on your site to declare the material’s validity.
There are two tags to account for sites that do and don’t syndicate their content. If you do, you should be using both tags. If you don’t syndicate your content and are producing original material, you should just use the original-source tag. If you have used an article from another site in total, you should use the original source tag in the head to indicate this.
What About The Canonical Tag?
As mentioned, there’s another tag (technically, an attribute), that Google introduced that seems similar to what today’s new “source” tags do. That’s the canonical tag. See our past coverage about the tag for more background:
Both tags should live in the of your document and are declared like this:

In contrast to the canonical tag pronouncement, this is no mixture of the search engines to agree on a new tag, it is Google deciding to go it alone, for a product that they produce. Mind you, the canonical tag was originally only working on Google, and there was no shortage of sites adopting that, so we should find this tag is equally well utilised, above all if you create unique content and would like this to appear in Google News, like we often do with our News Content service. So this is a tag that we should be recommending that our clients use when they publish the articles that they receive from us.
At the moment, Google isn’t saying that they are using the tags for ranking, only that they will if they prove useful. So syndication-source will be used to distinguish between identical articles and original-source will only be studied. Basically Google are asking us to participate in an experiment to improve Google News results.
Google has spent a lot of time and effort on ways of identifying duplicate content including patenting their methods and these tags prove perhaps that they are still finding issues with identifying the originator of the information rather than the strongest site carrying the article.

Slow sites lose their Organic Ranking Soon

The pair noted that site speed was a new signal in the algorithm, which gave the lie to SEO suspicions of the last few years, but this announcement does highlight the need for a speedy site.

How important is site speed to SEO? As always, this question needs to be looked at from two angles. The first angle, the Google angle, is, again, now clear. Singhal and Cutts wrote that site speed didn’t carry as much weight in the algorithm as page relevance. By their calculations after a few weeks of testing, less than one percent of search queries were affected by the change. If sites hadn’t noticed any real change in their rankings, Google thought it likely that the change wouldn’t affect them at all.
As this new element settled in over the coming months, it’s possible that more sites felt a shift in rankings due to their speed, but if what Google’s gurus say is true, then speed isn’t a vital element in your ranking. At the same time, it should be considered, for the second factor if nothing else.

In other words, a slow response time from your site could send your target users straight back to the search engines. There is No Alternative to Link Building but built only Quality Links
I was reading an article that someone called me retweeted Link Building Rules for 2010 follow. There that article, especially the fact that you no longer believe things like page rank can give you an idea of a link is worth a lot of truth in. But what struck me at that time despite moving the search engines are getting more sophisticated, there is no option to link. How to See Google.com USA Results from A Different Country

Get a Google Account
